These will pair several of his original, and in demand, Hickory albums from the early 1960s. This CD offers a pairing of Mr. Acuff's first two Hickory albums. The first compiled his Hickory singles from 1957 1960, and represents some of the last authentic hillbilly music to be recorded in Nashville during the 1950s. The second features stellar re cuts of some of his biggest '30s and '40s hits that are preferred by many to those original recordings. The release of this package will mark the first time that these albums have been available "as originally issued" in nearly 40 years. |
