CANNONBALL ADDERLEY
RADIO NIGHTS | |
Description:
Cannonball Adderley's Radio Nights was culled from a series of live radio broadcasts hosted by disc jockey Alan Grant from the fabled Half Note in New York City circa 1967/68. Captured in their prime are two of Cannonball's most celebrated groups, featuring the likes of his brother Nat Adderley, tenor saxophonist Charles Lloyd, pianist Joe Zawinul, bassist Sam Jones and drummer Louis Hayes. The return of the classic Night Records' recordings is sure to be major news in the jazz world, embraced by music fans long seeking these rare and extremely hard to find documents of jazz's brightest moments. As Dorn declares: “The music is a living history of what happened over the last 30 or 40 years in clubs, at concerts and festivals and on the air. Our goal is to put you in the audience and help you feel the magic of a music, time and place that's never coming back. |
