Coloratura soprano Anna Maria Alberghetti came from Italy, and, while still a young girl, captured the U.S.A. with her wonderful voice, appearing in concert at the Carnegie Hall at the age of fourteen. She also appeared in a number of Hollywood films, and starred in the hit musical Carnival on Broadway. Here she is in her first recorded songs, heard in a varied program that demonstrates not only the purity of her agile soprano voice, but also her lyrical ability with romantic ballads. Here also are excerpts from the soundtrack of "Gian Carlo Menotti's The Medium," in which she starred at the age of 15.
