In the tradition of The Jazz Messengers and The Jazztet, One For All is the quintessential hardbop band. "The Lineup" marks the band's return to Sharp Nine Records where it debuted in 1997 to great acclaim with "Too Soon To Tell" SHP 1006 followed in 1998 by "Optimism" SHP 1010. In the intervening decade, each member of this powerhouse group Eric Alexander, Jim Rotondi, Steve Davis, David Hazeltine and Joe Farnsworth has gone on to become a major figure on the straight ahead jazz scene. "The Lineup" features original material that documents the musical growth of the band, yet stays true to its core virtues: tremendous drive, swing, and flawless execution as the foundation for great individual soloists.
