JAZZ AT PRESERVATION HALL / HERE IS CHRIS BARBER | |
Description:
Composed of musicians whose life stories cover the whole range of the jazz legend, Paul Barbarin & His Jazz Band and Punch Miller's Bunch were two of New Orleans' true Bourbon Street artists. They're joined on this Jazz at Preservation Hall album by saxophonist George Lewis, who at the time, was the living giant of New Orleans jazz. They're joined on this disc by an outing from UK trombonist and Dixieland band leader Chris Barber, the man largely credited with bringing jazz to and popularizing jazz in Great Britain in the early '60s. |
