THE NEARNESS OF TWO - PLAYING THE MUSIC OF HOAGY CARMICHAEL | |
Description:
This CD was recorded when Sheridan and Barnard were among the players at the 2006 Jazz at Chautauqua party. Michael Steinman was fortunate enough to see both of them, together and apart, throughout that weekend. In one band set, as an offhanded duet feature, they created a yearning version of Crosby's "Please," with uncluttered lyricism and great style. I can testify that they create timeless music wherever they get together. |
