LIVE AT BASIN STREET EAST

Description:
At last this fine example of Charlie Barnet's last great bigband live is again available and includes an additional ten micnutes form the late evening of December 31st. and into the new year of 1967. The exuberance of the event is clearly audible but does not spoil the music. The two new complete titles featured are Bill Holman arrangement of "Early Autumn" and Billy Byers' treatment of "Upper Manhattan Medical Group". The soloists are Charlie on soprano and alto, Clark Terry on trumpet, Richie Kamuca on tenor and as always the impeccable piano fills from Nat Pierce. The sound balance of this broadcast is markedly different, and the piano presence is much improved.
