GARY BARTZ
WEST 42ND STREET | |
Description:
Gary Bartz is one of the most accomplished saxophonists of his generation. He has consistently maintained an open minded outlook and surrounded himself with players who keep their musical energies refreshed. Gary made his Candid debut on the live session from Birdland as part of Louis Hayes' fine sextet Candid 79045. This is really an all star date with John Hicks piano, Ray Drummond piano and Al Foster drums, which, apart from the leader's soaring searing alto features an outstanding debut on Candid for the gifted trumpeter Claudio Roditi, a man who has garnered a great reputation as member of Dizzy Gillespie's United Nation Orchestra. Live recording. |
