TONY BENNETT

THE YOUNG TONY BENNETT

Description:
26 tracks recorded between 1950 and 1953, many on CD for the first time. Tony Bennett, one of the most universally admired singers of the post war era was born Anthony Dominick Benedetto in 1926 in Queens, New York. It was Bob Hope who gave him his first important concert engagement in 1950, the same year he started his recording career, and he has remained in the forefront of jazz and ballad vocalists ever since. Sepia Records have found 26 of his early recordings recorded between 1950 and 1953, re mastered them and featured them on this CD. Included are his US number one hits "Cold, Cold Heart", "Rags To Riches" and his British chart topper "Stranger In Paradise" but equally, many tracks here are making their first appearance on CD.
