This heartfelt tribute to one of the true giants of jazz was planned, executed and recorded shortly after Miles Davis' passing on 29 September 1991. Claudio Roditi, Donald Harrison, Ricky Ford, Kenny Barron, Larry Gales and Joe Chambers were all, like the entire jazz community, deeply affected by his demise. It is a first class meeting of equals seasoned unsung heroes of the contemporary jazz scene and all Candid leaders. Five classic Miles Davis compositions are featured including Nardis which Miles himself never recorded plus two beautiful standards upon which Miles put his personal stamp. Ricky Ford's intriguing Milestrane neatly encapsulates some of the stylistic ideas of Miles and Trane and is a pulsating finale to a boss album.
