ROY CARRIERAND THE NIGHT ROCKERS
LIVING LEGEND | |
Description:
Real Blues Magazine calls Roy Carrier "a raw, wild and totally authentic Louisiana bayou Zydeco legend." Present at the birth of Zydeco, Roy began playing house parties with his father in Southwest Louisiana when he was only six years old. Today, Roy is the patriarch of an extended family of Zydeco musicians that include his two sons, Chubby and Troy and is the bridge bewteen Zydeco's roots and all that it has become today. Roy's signature style is hard driving, blues based, authentic Zydeco. As a young musician, he was greatly influenced by his cousin and mentor, the great Clifton Chenier and has been called "the only man who can carry on the Clifton Chenier tradition as accurately or as passionately." |
