Description:
With the slide of a trombone, Larry Clinton and His Orchestra begin their ser from The Meadowbrook in Ceader Brook, N.J. These songs are taken from a 1947 broadcast of "One Night Stand" and various New York dates from 1940 and 1941. The featured vocalists are Helen Lee and Peggy Mann, with assists from Butch Stone, Lloyd Strange and Dick Styles. Along for the ride are the "Dipsy Doodle," which Clinton wrote for Tommy Dorsey. An influential arranger for both Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Isham Jones, and the Casa Loma Orchestra throughout the 1930's, he recorded over 200 sides for the RCA Victor and Bluebird Labels from 1937 to 1941.
