Though recorded in 1959 this album was not released until 1971. Featuring the classic Ornette Coleman quartet, this release is perhaps most notable for an early version of "Free Jazz", here called "First Take", the 40 minute version of which would make up his entire album of the same name from the following year. The four other cuts here smoke too.
