As for the session itself, it has all the live spontaneity of a relaxed get together, with Ken, himself, on good form. There is plenty of evidence here of his gift for dynamics and introspective middle register playing. Numbers are of club length, no doubt allowing time for dancers to enjoy themselves. Occasional fluffs occur but nothing to detract from the general joyous ambience. |
