EDDIE CONDON

AND HIS ALL-STARS

JAZZ AS IT SHOULD BE PLAYED

Description:
The reunion of Eddie Condon and his mates was recorded live at the Manassas Jazz Festival in the late '60s. It includes the hilarious wisecracking of Condon, Wild Bill Davison and George Brunies. There is also a fair sampling of fine Chicago Dixieland from these unique veterans along with clarinetist Tommy Gwaltney, pianist Don Ewell, bassist Bill Goodall and drummer Frank Marshall. Particularly enjoyable are "At the Jazz Band Ball," Brunies's vocal on "Sister Kate," "That's a Plenty" and "I've Found a New Baby."
