From 1933 to 1949 Bing Crosby had his own radio show, boosting his star status and in turn increasing his record sales and his box office drawing power. One of Crosby’s great qualities as a radio presenter was his willingness to share the limelight with celebrity guests, as is demonstrated in this first release in Living Era’s Radio Stars Of America series later releases will feature Jimmy Durante, Jack Benny, Burns & Allen and others. In nine extended extracts from various Bing Crosby Shows, the “Old Groaner” is joined in entertaining banter and song by a fabulous roster of guest stars, including Judy Garland, Ethel Merman, Roy Rogers, The Andrews Sisters, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, and Jimmy Durante.
