As a bonus, this CD also offers a rare recording by the 1963 Miles Davis quintet featuring George Coleman on tenor sax, Herbie Hancock on piano, Ron Carter on bass and Tony Willimas on drums. After Coltrane's departure, Coleman had followed a brief stay by Sonny Stitt, and meanwhile the new rhythm section had arrived. This splendid reading of Milestones was broadcasted by French radio from a concert given at La Pinede on July 27, 1963.
