Description:
As a bonus we include in this CD three interesting broadcast recordings by the Davis and Coltrane quintet. The First one, another version of So What, comes form well known CBS TV show which also showed Miles fronting the Gil Evans's orchestra. The other four tunes are raer and belong to the first collaboration between Miles and Trane, with Red Garland and piano and Philly Jo Jones at the drums. After the first tune, Max is Making Wax, Steve Allen attempted to interview Milees, who had just been operated in his throat and was coughing. Unfortunately, according to Steve Allen himself, the videotape of his show was destroyed and only the audio survives.
