TED DesPLANTES
FEELIN' GOOD | |
Description:
This is the seventh LP or CD by this band formed twenty years ago by pianist/arranger Ted des Plantes to explore a broad range of seldom recorded yet hot and entertaining classic jazz tunes. Many are from the Clarence Williams repertoire. The last three recorded sessions resulted in a surplus of performances that could not fit onto the CD format hence this collection, brilliantly recorded by Mike Cogan and too good to remain in the vaults and not to b shared with collectors. Amazingly most of the musicians on this CD have been on all of the earlier recordings, i.e. Leon Oakley, John Otto, John Gill, Hal Smith and des Plantes. Five of the tunes are from the same session that produced their most recent Stomp Off CD 1409 "Thumpin' and Bumpin'" with Matthias Seuffert, Clint Baker and Mike Walbridge joining the five regulars above. We expect that listening to this CD will have you "Feelin' Good". |
