THE DORSEY BROTHERS
STAGE SHOW | |
Description:
By 1953, the big band business was in decline, but one of the few to remain on the scene was Tommy Dorsey. His brother Jimmy, who had led his own band for nearly two decades following the famous split of the 1930s Dorsey Brothers Orchestra, finally broke up his own band and rejoined brother Tommy in 1953. They used to be announced as Tommy Dorsey And His Orchestra featuring the worlds greatest saxophone player Jimmy Dorsey. Be that as it may, here is a chance to hear one of the world's greatest big bands "live" in 1954/55 with the added bonus of the great Nat King Cole and the fabulous McQuire Sisters. |
