MONTE EASTER
THE COMPLETE, VOLUME 2
Description:
In 1952 Easter singed with Jack Bergman's freshly acquired Discovery label. The band was Pat Reed, vocals, Easter on trumpet, Rosetta Andrews, paino, Ralph Hamilton, bass and Charles Blackwell, drums. By October 1953 Easter was recording for Eddie and Leo Mesner's Aladdin Records. By the end of 1954 Easter had signed a deal with John Fullbright at Elko Records. It was at Elko that Jimmy Nolen made his first two significant recordings. The initial release was as a member of Easter's band; the second was cut under his own name. Except for a session with Hunter Hancock and Rogeer Davenport's Swingin' label out of Hollywood this was Easter's last label before retiring.
