KOLN CONCERT | |
Description:
Time Remembered's first recorded version comes form a Shelly's Manne Hole live recording for Riverside in 1963, along with Chuck Israels and Larry Bucker. In this CD we can llisten to two different performances of this tune distanced by four years and compare the trio's approach. Pianist Dave Brubeck's In Your Own Sweet Way was irst recorded by evand during a piano solo studio session on April 4 1962. That session took place short after bassist Scott LaFaro's tragic death, during a period in which Evans didn't fell prepard to form a new trio. However, a previous unissued version of ths tune exists, including Evans as part of the Miles Davis sextet. It was recorded during a broadcast at Cafe Bohemia, in New York, on May 3, 1958. Evans first recording of 'In Your Own Sweet Way' as a trio piece took place on June 5, 1962 and from then it became part of the trio repertoire in its successive performances. |
