Description:
This historical live recording with never before released material is essential to the 1950's West Coast Traditional Jazz revival. The recorded history of the El Dorado Jazz Band is expanded with before and after CDs. Disc 1 presents the best of its earliest tapings, from 1954 at the Italian Village in San Francisco, along with selections from the bands' 1960 stand at Pete's Chicago Club in Sunnyvale on the lower San Francisco Peninsula. Disc 2 goes back to the 50s', certainly part, if not all, of Helm's heyday and displays his talents with two quite different bands, both from the San Francisco Bay Area. |
