SHEP FIELDS
THAT OLD FEELING
Description:
Here is only CD programme available to contain all the major hits of the creator of the "Rippling Rhythm", the popular 30s "sweet" bandleader Shep Fields. Saxophonist and clarinettist Shep Fields 1910 1981 led one of America's most successful "sweet" bands of the 30s, best remembered for its "rippling rhythm" sound introduced by blowing through a straw into a glass of water. The band enjoyed 38 hits between 1936 and 1943, including seven number ones. Living Era's That Old Feeling presents a generous sampling of the distinctive Shep Fields style during its vintage years. The programme includes 14 major hits, among them all seven of the number ones: Did I Remember?, In The Chapel In the Moonlight, The Merry Go Round Broke Down, That Old Feeling, Thanks For The Memory, Cathedral In The Pines and South Of The Border. The sequence also contains 9 interesting instrumental numbers, and a happy brand of humour with When The Mush Begins To Rush Down Father's Vest.
