Here the wondrous threesome who collectively played with giants Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, and Wes Montgomery visits five timeless standards in their inimitable, graceful, yet always swinging fashion. The easy paced "This Can't Be Love" is a typical highlight. It sports a stunning, extended bowed solo by Chambers as well as Garland's prancing single note lines and lilting block chords. Other winners are the blues drenched title track and "Since I Fell for You," and the perky "Crazy Rhythm." Throughout, Taylor supports with panache. |
