GEORGE GEE

SWING ORCHESTRA

SWINGIN' AT SWING CITY ZURICH

Description:
George Gee's ever poplular band is back with its second release recorded live at the prestigeous Zurich Festival in 2001 in a public concert at Zurich's historic main train station. The virtuosity and swingability of this veteran packed band was on display that steaming summer evening captured here live. Selections include the rarely heard Duke Ellington's "One Man Dance," Harry James' "Trumpet Blues and Cantible," a Latin masterpiece "Sunny Ray" by Ray Santos, and a cool Curtis Dixon "Soul Serenade" played, soulfully of course, by Charles Stephens. The CD is dedicated to Frank Foster, whose song "Blues at Frankie's Flat" features veteran Eddie Bert and music director Walt Szymanski.
