Description:
This sensational re edition contains all of the studio recordings made for the Pacific jazz label by the original Chico Hamilton's outstanding quintet. In addition, this release also contains, as bonus tracks, the quintet's first live session, recorded at The Strollers club only a few weeks after the quintet's formation, and a sensational drums solo performed by Hamilton during a concert at the Stockton High School. The Tunes from these sessions include some great standards such as "My Funny Valentine", "I Want To Be Happy", "Stella By Starlight"... and two immortal originals "A Nice Day" by Buddy Colette, and "A Bark for Barksdale" by Gerry Mulligan.
