ADVENTURES IN JAZZLAND | |
Description:
Going beyond the blues with this series of Adventures, guitarist Jeff Healey adds trumpet and valve trombone to his musical arsenal. In a follow up of sorts to his Among Friends disc, Healey augments his band with the presence of some ace traditional jazz musicians, such as guitarist Marty Grosz and bass saxophonist Vince Giordano, for an inspired and fun trip through jazz classics of the 1920s and `30s. Reissue of the self released 2004 album from multi instrumentalist Jeff Healey. Initially known as a Blues guitarist, on this release, Healey picks up the trumpet and explores traditional American Jazz of the '20s and '30s. Backed by his new band, The Jazz Wizards, this is a remarkable release by an artist who continues to surprise and inspire. 15 tracks including 'Bugle Call Rag', 'I Never Knew What A Gal Could Do', 'Three Little Words' and more. |
