For A Yank In Europe, when he met Ted Heath in 1956, Raymond Scott suggested the idea of his great band recording this suite. Ted's interest was aroused immediately and a conference with arranger Johnny Keating resulted in these excellent adaptations of Raymond's sketches for the Heath band. This suite reveals Scott as a mature, sensitive composer, while the band plays with precision and finesse which at once ensures the record a place in the library of classic Heath recordings.
