WOODY HERMAN

AND THE FIRST HEARD

JUKE BOX

Description:
Although the success of Woddy Herman's First Heard is often attributed to such excellent instrumental soloists as Bill Harris, Flip Phillips, Pete Candoli and Red Norvo as well as the to some exhilarating ensemble work, it is as well to remember that many of Woody's 'hit records' up to and including this period featured the singing of Woody Herman. For the collector specialist the inclusion of the two tracks by Miss Jo Stafford should be prized. This is a rare and highly collectable set of recordings from 1944 46 featuring Woody's greatest ever band. Also features Dave Tough, Neal Hefti, Shorty Rogers, Ralph Burns and Don Lamond.
