On this atmospheric "One Night Stand" broadcast from the legendary venue in the Spring of 1951, we get the chance to hear typical programs that Woody's working band played every night for dance concerts all over the USA. Featured are arrangements by Ralph Burns, Shorty Rogers and George Shearing, and highlights are solos by Phil Urso, Shorty, Urbie Green and Woody himself. Woody made an enormous contribution to jazz history by keeping a big band together, often against several economic odds, and maintaining an uncompromising jazz style.
