HOW CAN I FORGET? / THE EVEREST SESSIONS

Description:
Jimmy Holiday is today perhaps better remembered as a prolific songwriter although he came to fame firstly as a performer in 1963. He attained a Billboard Soul chart placing at 8 with his Everest label single, "How Can I Forget?" This reissue is the original album in its entirety all of the tracks were also released on six Everest singles. After leaving Everest, Holiday eventually signed with Minit Records and enjoyed several hits at the same time as pursuing a career as a songwriter. He became closely linked to Ray Charles for whom he wrote many songs. Jimmy's greatest song is probably "Put A Little Love In Your Heart" a hit for his co writer, Jackie De Shannon and again in 1989 for Al Green and Annie Lennox.
