LOUIS: THE KING OLIVER YEARS

Description:
The whole idea behind this CD was to celebrate the musical lives of Louis Armstrong and Joe "King" Oliver and the influences they had on each other. For Armstrong the "Oliver Years" took place in Chicago from the time of his arrival there in July of 1922 until his solo departure for New York in October of 1924. During that time he recorded more than 40 sides with "Papa Joe". Many of those classics are included here along with some additional tunes that are too good to pass up.
