Description:
The final release from the five CD collection of Illinois Jacquet's Complete 1956 1966 recordings as a leader, this edition contains the complete Go Power! album recorded live at Lennie's On The Turnpike in West Peabody, Mass., during March 1966. The seven tracks released on the original album were taken from three live trio performances with Jacquet on tenor sax, Milt Buckner on organ and piano and Alan Dawson on drums. After listening to the music form this CD and the other four CDs form this collection, the listener is forced to admit that Jacquet is not boasting, he's just stating the obvious.
