Wim Wenders' latest film "The Soul Of A Man" is based around this famous 1931 Skip James recording session for Paramount. He was rediscovered some 33 years later and performed at the Newport Folk Festival he also recorded an album for Vanguard. This 18 track collection features Skip singing by himself with his guitar on 13 tracks and on 5 tracks, he's by himself on piano/vocals. Many of these influential titles have been covered by well known blues and rock artists through the years. These 1931 sides are not currently available in Europe and here they are at low medium price. |
