THE JAZZ CRUSADERS
AT THE LIGHTHOUSE | |
Description:
This is the first Jazz Crusaders album to be recorded at The Lighthouse in Hermosa Beach. Recorded in August 1962 and released the same year, this album, thanks to "Congolese Sermon" and "Weather Beat", put the band on the jazz map. It still stands as one of their best. Added to the original album are Joe Sample's "Penny Blue" and an extended version of "Boopie" with a great, extended solo by composer/tenor saxophonist Wilton Felder. |
