JAZZ GOES HAWAIIAN

Description:
Jazz and Hawaiian music may seem, on the surface, to be strange bedfellows, but in certain ways their origins are not too dissimilar. Both grew out of a mixture of local music that basically rhythmic and European music, which was bascially melodic and harmonic. This CD is intended to be a not too scholarly look at Hawaiian musicians playing jazz and jazzmen playing Hawaiian tunes.
