Description:
Many bands purporting to play New Orleans jazz today actually play styles which evolved from it in Chicago & N.Y., but Jerry & his Stompers play it in its classic form. He's assembled a group of musicians so steeped in the original music they are able to tap into the creative consciousness which produced its flowering in the mid 1920s. Here, Jerry, Earl Scheelar, Don Kidder, Jim Cumming, Henk Wagner, Ted Thomas, Gordon Wilson & guest Bob Jackson play a hymn, a waltz in 4/4 time, traditional blues, New Orleans classics & both well & little known pop tunes.
