BRUCE KATZ

BAND

A DEEPER BLUE

Description:
Bruce Katz occupies a unique space where blues, jazz, R&B, soul, and Americana collide into a style of original music. Best known as a member of Ronnie Earl & The Broadcasters in the early '80s, he has played with many of the leading names in blues and roots music, such as Duke Robillard, Jerry Portnoy, Jimmy Witherspoon, Big Mama Thornton, Mighty Sam McClain and many others. Bruce delves into various early blues styles with longtime cohorts bassist Rod Carey Hubert Sumlin, Kenny Neal, Ralph Rosen on drums, Mike Williams on guitar, and the inimitable Ronnie Earl. Bruce is as comfortable playing "soul jazz" on the Hammond as he is playing 1930s style stride piano or the meanest slow blues.
