Recorded live at Vanderberg Hall, Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. What's significant about this recording, lovingly produced by Hans Loffler, is that it presents the alternate side of Kenton's music, and does so with a technical clarity and dedication to the art form, seldom surpassed by any of the live performance discs that have recently become available. The music you'll hear, incidentally, is taken from original reel to reel tapes made by Rabbi Fred Eisenberg, who was then Keesler's resident chaplain. This album is dedicated to him with much gratitude for being such a devoted keeper of the flame, and for allowing this great music to be shared.
