As soon as the band hit Continental Europe, the position changed dramatically, and radio station vied with each other to record and broadcat the orchestra 'live' in concert. The first date known to have been recorded in this way is presented on this CD, from the Concert House in Stockholm, Sweden on 16 April 1956. Actually, they did much more than that, as proven by the first rate performance heard throughout this recording. No doubt the band was inspired by the warm reception accorded them by their Swedish fans, but in truth the personnel was strong enough to overcome almost any difficulty, with such stalwarts as Bob Fitzpatrick, Carl Fontana and Kent Larsen among the trombones. The entire program is well chosen with selections from periods throughout the Kenton career to date.
