Description:
Darlene Langston's musical career began as a soloist and education for the St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Richmond. She received Classical music training at California State University, Hayward, going on to perform as a soloist with the Oakland Opera and Lamplighters Gilbert & Sullivan Ensemble. The big change in direction came in 2005 when she immerged as a great mainstream jazz singer, perfectly comfortable in nightclub and cabaret venues. This new CD includes some of the Bay Area current top jazz musicians, backing her up on selections from the Great American Song Book.
