SHAKE DOWN THE STARS | |
Description:
Vic Lewis had long admired Jimmy Van Heusen and here he pays tribute to the exceptional skills of this writer with a whole album of his music. For this recording, Lewis put together an all star ensemble featuring top L.A. jazz musicians to perform some truly brilliant arrangements by the great Bill Holman. The lineup of this West Coast session includes Bob Cooper tenor saxophone, Bill Perkins clarinet, flute, soprano, tenor and baritone saxophones, Mike Lang, Joel di Bartolo bass and Paul Kreibich drums. It also showcases the fine trombone playing of Andy Martin who features on every number other than 'I'll Only Miss Here.' |
