Description:
This re issue was recorded at the first Manassas Jazz Festival in Manassas, Virginia in 1966. The festival was founded by Johnson "Fat Cat" McRee, Jr., and soon after, he created his Fat Cat Jazz label. Three major artists appear on this CD: Maxine Sullivan, Doc Edmond Souchon and Cliff Jackson. Also featured is Marion McPartland, Keter Betts, Jake Hannah, Tom Gwaltney and others. Includes bonus tracks not available on the original LP recorded at later Manassas festivals. |
