Description:
Clarinetist Orange Kellin and his Manhatten Ragtime Orchestra are pleased to welcome you to their 2004 debut. A century after ragtime's heyday, this band demonstrates that wonderful music lives on when wonderful musicians play it. Orange, whose American career began when he moved from Stockholm to New Orleans in 1966, has compiled a long and brilliant record as a prime mover in the traditional jazz world, and here is further proof that he is not about to slow down. Reflecting today's New York scene, the Manhattan Ragtime Orchestra combines seasoned and well known traditionalists with some very fine younger players who bring a wide variety of experience to the bandstand. |
