HERBIE MANN
COMMON GROUND | |
Description:
The most celebrated flutist of his generation, Herbie Mann began his musical journey on clarinet and quickly graduated to the tenor sax and flute. Herbie Mann's biggest contribution to American music was his introduction of Brazilian music, especially Boss Nova. During Mann's career he investigated the fusion of various genres including Rock, Pop, Reggae and Disco. A middle Eastern flair is apparent on this 1960 original recording which features Dizzy Gillespie's "Night In Tunisia," plus "Baghdad" and "Asia Minor" |
