Best known as a first rate drummer, band leader, all around top notch musician and personality Shelly Manne started his career in the 1940s and would continue playing through the 1980s. After gaining considerable fame, with Les Brown, Woody Herman and Stan Kenton, Shelly Manne became the most in demand of all Jazz drummers in the 1950s. This recording features Shelly Manne's exploration into the worlds of hard Bop and avant garde. 'Margie,' 'The Breeze And I' and 'You Name It' are some of the notable tracks on this original 1966 Atlantic album
