Description:
The Greatest Gift Is Love was Mantovanis last original album, recorded in Paris in the summer of 1975 at a time when the maestro was not in the best of health. It is thought that the arranger Roland Shaw, who always accompanied Monty to Paris for his recodings, helped him to satisfactorily complete the sessions. Despite these problems the selection is one to remember: reflective, gentle, wistful in places and containing a variety of moods. Surprisingly, it emerges in CD format for the very first time along with its companion album, a special bonus issue of the 1962 celebration of the two Britsh musicals, originally sold only in America. |
