Tenor Saxophonist and bandleader Freddy Martin led his Orchestra from the 1930s to the 1970s. During 1956 and 1957 "Mr. Silvertone" recorded in hi fi for the dancers of the day and the twenty four tracks on the disc showcase Music in the Martin Manner. Featuring the vocals of Merv Griffin and the Martin Men and pianists Murray Arnold and Barclay Allen track 20 the Orchestra play standards including Make Believe, All the Things You Are, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, The Song Is You and My Reverie. Twenty Four tracks from one of Americas favorite sweet dance bands. |
