This 17 track live concert featuring pianist Marian McPartland and vocalist Teddi King was recorded at the New York Public Library on Nov. 17, 1973. The purpose of the program was to create an aural supplement to Alec Wilder's landmark book, "American Popular Song," and the performance includes songs by Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Rodgers & Hart, Cole Porter, Duke Ellington and others. Marian's trio consists of bassist Rusty Gilder and drummer Eric Nebbia. |
